I spoke to my twin brother earlier this week and he turned me on to a wonderful solution! SMC Fancontrol http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/23049 The twin fans on your MacBook Pro can then be controlled by the temperature monitor and fan speed guage that resides in your top toolbar.
