I would love to attend this year. (I followed along virtually last year.) I am afraid if I try to fit one more thing into January, my husband will change the locks on the doors!! But I haven't lost hope. I do like the set-up and your topic for discussion. This was a good essential question from the Learning 2.008 Conference in Shaghai: "If we didn’t have the schools we have today, would we create the schools we have today?" Also, if I do make it - I have a freezer full of cookies -I make double at Christmas and have a fabulous display for a mid-January in-service workshop I do. In Africa we are still coming to grips with very basic stuff: provisioning of equipment, connectivity and teacher training. We try to leapfrog, but the hops are small! But what I enjoy about your blog, as well as the other references that you give, is that it helps to keep our vision fresh ... one day we will get there with you! Thanks for sharing your thoughts on a public platform so that, even though we are a hemisphere) and a few lighyears) away from you, we could still benefit from you experience. What I enjoyed most about the setup was how many people you got to hear from. I think we've all sat through workshops and conferences where all of the conversations took place outside of the sessions. Having discussions within the sessions, giving us a chance to meet others and hear perspectives different than our own, will get us much further along in this process of change. Now, if only I could be in two places at once; I am presenting in this same time slot at EduCon. Thank goodness for recording and the amazing ability of this network to archive discussions!
