I agree, but I have to admit that to achieve this I schedule balanced activities in my Outlook Calendar. It works!

Bah Humbug! Balance is overated! Become one with the machine.

(wink)

Been riding the bike and the jetski. Yesterday walked on a beach with no footprints. Just got back from the pool. Trying to make myself get back on the machine.

Watch Koyaanisqatsi, the movie, and I think the need for balance will become even more apparent. The blog cannot wag you. Play a little First Life. Listen to the Twittering of birds. Read the text in your child's face. Your obt servt will still be here when you get back.

Will, I agree, sometimes it can be a bit too much especially when you are doing all that you are doing promoting Web 2.0. It is a connected world and balance in this digital world is a must. That is why I go sailing after school is out. Thanks for the great seminar at MCIU 5/30/07, it was fantastic!

Balance....once we get teachers using technology and they get 'sucked in' this will be what our next teaching role will become. Teaching balance. Something I'm working.

Will, I love the depth of your writing. You seem to bring meaning at a time when it is most needed. I am constantly reminded of Design. Story. Symphony. Empathy. Meaning. and what it means to educate the whole child. It's so hard to lay the "cause" down for our other true loves in life. Thank you.

You are so right!!! You realise you are out of balance when you are working away on reports and reading blogs etc etc and feel yourself flagging and in need of a walk. Soooooo you log into Second Life and go for a walk around the river, listening to the birds, hearing the wind :).

Will,

Next time you get to West Michigan, you are welcome to scoop all of the horse poop you want. Our patio could use a bit of work too.
