I just saw Yochai speak on Friday at the Yale Access to Knowledge conference. He was really fascinating, but spoke so quickly I simply couldn't take useful notes, which was too bad. He attended my panel session later that day, which was nice. Lots of notes from many other sessions on my blog -andy

[...] Speaking of which: the other day I stumbled across the wiki for Yochai Benkler’s book, The Wealth of Networks: How Social Production Transforms Markets and Freedom. This might be something I look through before the Crowley book, to tell the truth. For starters, the whole thing is available as a PDF on the wiki page for the book. But beyond the whole “ease of access” issue, Benkler’s book (as Will Richardson has blogged) was characterized by Lawrence Lessig as “by far the most important and powerful book written in the fields that matter most to me in the last ten years.” Pretty darn high praise indeed….
[...] On a related note, The Wealth of Nations raises concerns about similar issues. Will Richardson’s blog-entry might be a good place to start. [...]

I've just started reading this too. It makes me wonder how the edu - blogosphere needs to change and advance. We are currently not much of a network pushing together on a common task. Wasn't it John Pederson who called it parallel play earlier this winter? Where is he anyway? Get off of World of Warcraft!
