This comment is probably too late to be useful for your seminar, but it resonates with something I hear myself saying a lot in podcasts of a talk I have been giving.

“I used to use google to find stuff that other people had written on the web. Now I use (these ‘Web2.0 tools’) to write stuff and find myself reading all kinds of interesting stuff that just ‘washes up onto the beach’ thru my RSS aggregator.”
