On another level, (1) we are going to ask students to devote a portion of their blogs to "professional development": since the job of the First Year Seminar at Middlebury is also to advise students, we're going to ask students to do some "meta" writing about their wishes, selections they've made, assessments of their current courses as a way to select their Spring stuff--like that; (2) this can go on for a couple of years, given our advising structure, lending us the opportunity to have students begin to see the potential of blogging as a life-long endeavor... We're going to do this on Barbara's NEW blog, yet to be constructed and which will be about Irish Film and Literature (F'03). hector Will, rather than putting together a system, particularly since the Fall is upon us, we’re doing some different strategies:

So if you guys can talk about requirements for your ideal class weblog system while you're all together, then Tim can pass that onto me and hopefully we can get some code down.
